Sketched this up while listening to Slow, Love, Slow by Nightwish on a loop.
I only just realized how much this song reminds me of Eris. It has a delicious 1930’s nightclub jazz vibe to it—very sensual and demure, but also with a hint of menace—which is perfectly suited to her character. She’s essentially the stitchpunk embodiment of a classical femme fatale, red heels and all, like Jessica Rabbit if she actually were bad. It’s hard to listen to this song and NOT envision Eris singing it seductively to her boys.
As for the sketch, I’m not sure yet if I like it enough to ink and color it—a couple things look a bit off. :P But I hope you guys enjoy it. <3
A rough concept sketch of Jeri Fisher, a brand new character of mine.
I wanted to create a scenario in which an upstanding young woman is morally compromised when her little brother is put in danger, and unwittingly resorts to murdering the man responsible in order to protect him. The story would revolve around her attempts to hide the truth of what she’d done, thereby coming to face further conflict as the lines between good and bad blur.
I came up with this idea during a sleepless night, but I really like it. It has sort of a Breaking Bad/Death Note feel. I’ve never really tried something like it, but I’d definitely love to expand it at some point.
So accurate it isn’t even funny.
I don’t usually like to post humorous stuff on this blog I couldn’t resist this time.
