paradox-clone:

Bless this post.

Glad to say I’ve never experienced this sort of reaction from people, but I don’t doubt that it happens. :/ People just forget that you don’t have to be of a certain group to support their cause.

Taking the first bit into account, I support everything the LGBT community stands for and will gladly stand alongside them in protest to help them gain the rights they deserve. If you’re sexually attracted to others of the same gender or both genders, if you feel your life would be more fulfilling as a male or female or anything and everything in-between, I firmly believe you should have the freedom to pursue those desires. I will not judge you or see you as any less human.

However, that does not mean that I myself should have to conform to the LGBT way of life. It does not mean I should be anything different than what I am: a heterosexual, cis-gendered male. Being heterosexual does not invalidate my belief in gay rights, nor does being cis-gendered mean I believe in the concept of gender-profiling.

The same goes for the issue of race: I may be white (though I certainly don’t look it. XD), but that does not mean I look at minorities as lesser human beings. We all deserve equal treatment, no matter our heritage or the color of our skin.

So yeah, long story short? I’m a heterosexual cis-gendered white male who believes in equal rights for all, and anyone who doubts that should probably re-evaluate what they themselves stand for.
